Finland does not know what to do with its Bitcoins! Authorities, who have recovered some 2,000 Bitcoins in recent months, can not treat the queen of cryto-currencies or other virtual currencies as a 'real' currency but as an asset, which as a rule can not be used or accepted as a means of payment or as an investment, "reads a Treasury document quoted by Bloomberg News.

Bitcoins seized by the Finnish state, which recommends storing them 'off-line', can only be converted into euros after a court decision on their appropriation becomes binding. Sales are expected to take place primarily through public auctions rather than trade, which could be untrustworthy and opaque, according to the Treasury. The United States has already opted for this method on several occasions after confiscating Bitcoins in several cases.
