Bitcoin trades on hold for the first time in three months :

Transactions waiting for a confirmation in the mempool are at the lowest, but the costs remain relatively high.

The number of transactions pending processing by the Bitcoin network fell to only 1,300 at the time of writing, a statistic that is well below the record of 300,000 transactions recorded in recent weeks.

However, the fees still remain at a relatively high level of about $ 2 per transaction for it to be integrated directly into the next block, and about 50 cents for a slightly slower confirmation period.

The reason for this situation may not be clear, but it could come from some trading platforms or portfolios that continue to operate with fixed fees based on the previous state of the network.

On the demand side, transaction volumes also declined. They are now down to a level that the network had reached for the first time in 2016.
